A Supportive Hug

Mission & Purpose

The Servant Group Cares Corporation of Arizona is a registered 501(c)(3) public charitable organization serving the West Valley of the greater Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. Our mission is to assist the families of special needs children and adults in gaining life skills and education that is necessary to achieve the highest quality of life for themselves and those they take care of. Caregivers of children with developmental disabilities (DD) experience greater mental and emotional health problems than families of children without DD, particularly stress, depression and anxiety. Preventive strategies that reduce stress and facilitate improved health and self-care among this population are effective at producing positive outcomes.

However, high quality of life requires far more than just the resolution to chronic stressors resulting from the disability itself.  We believe crisis management of stress to keep families "off the ledge" is not enough, we must also positively promote a better quality of life to improve outcomes for themselves and their children.

However, high quality of life requires far more than just the resolution to chronic stressors resulting from the disability itself.  We believe crisis management of stress to keep families "off the ledge" is not enough, we must also positively promote a better quality of life to improve outcomes for themselves and their children.

With proper support, it is possible for family members to move beyond mere acceptance of their child’s disability and truly appreciate the benefits that arise from facing the challenge. We believe that every family impacted by a Developmental Disability can enjoy and obtain a life of high quality and bonadaptation (i.e. positive outcomes from life stressors).

Vision & Values

We envision a world where families impacted by Developmental Disabilities are supported inclusively, in addition to the individual member with the disability. We believe these families can do more than just endure the chronic stressors of a disability, but they can thrive and develop positive outcomes from its presence in their lives.

We believe in 5 guiding principles that contribute to our overall cultural capabilities and a culturally inclusive environment:

Firstly, respect.  Respect is an integral part of daily life within our organization.  We strive to instill a feeling of deep admiration for all those within our community as well as for their abilities and achievements. Second, we believe in the virtue of advocacy.  Our organization supports causes and policies that our members, staff and community hold dear.

Third, we believe communication is highly impactful in our world today and our ability to communicate and deliver information is far more advanced than ever before.  Fourth, we believe the founding principles of our organization rest on quality and safety of service.  It is our promise to our staff, members, and community to protect them from danger, risk or injury.  Fifth, we ensure that our organization values diversity in all facets, including but not limited to the services we deliver, the employees we train, the programs we utilize and the individuals we represent.  Lastly, we believe that we are a direct reflection of the type of business we run. With that in mind, we work hard to ensure that our reflection is something we are proud of.

Executive Director

Our Founder, Dr. Stephanie Belton, is a lifelong advocate for persons with disabilities and local businesswoman who saw a need for additional medical care and counseling services for families and individuals with Developmental Disabilities (DD) in the West Valley area. In 2019, Stephanie became CEO of The Servant Group, LLC (TSG) a private healthcare company that works with members who are both medically fragile and developmentally delayed and grew it into a successful business. In 2020, Dr. Belton founded The Servant Group Cares Corporation of Arizona (TSGCC) to help families of children with DD improve their quality of life by providing resources and education helping them focus on their own mental health and well-being.  Her work is driven by compassion and Christian beliefs to provide exceptional medical care and quality of life to each member TSG and TSGCC serves. Dr. Belton understands that high quality of life requires far more than crisis management and keeping families "off the ledge". Her goal through TSGCC is to help these families enjoy and obtain a high quality of life by not just accepting but fully embracing the challenges of family members with DD.
